Buddha and Fashion

Since Buddhism was introduced to the West. Why Westerners seek for Buddhism? One reason, good things. In this "good things", Yoga business Fashion business Personal inspiration / self motivation videos, audio, and books. Out of these, Fashion business is seriously mistaken for "The Business of Buddha". There are many differences between Eastern and Western who use the icon of Buddha fơr the businesses. Easterners understand more about Buddhism, they have more respects in their designs. So here is a short tip for Western businesses who wants to celebrate Buddhism on their products. Say Yes for Buddha's icons on: - Neck lace (brace lace may be okay, but Eastern Buddhism use strings and symbols in Buddhism without Buddha's image). - Ring - Glasses (drinking glasses, and eye glasses) These materials are associated to meanings of clear vision respected social friendship loyalty eternity But PLEASE SAY NO TO: - Underwear - Shoes - Bikini - Sensitive - Mattress (in yoga) Why not? Because Buddha's image doesn't mean self-joyed. Buddha's image means - Respect, not "feel good" - Fortunate, not "Rich, and Wealthy" - May be .. "lucky", but not "comfortable" Anything associate to Breast, Chest, Belly and down is NO NO. One rule, however. - There are two types of Buddha that make everything a big mistake! The Buddha - Founder of Buddhism is "Gautama Buddha", his icon is untouchable and applies to above YES, NO rules. The Big Belly Buddha - Di Lac, or The Ong Dia - The Future Buddha is mostly why the Western consumer product designers has mistaken for Gautama Buddha's icon is a big issue. The Big Belly Buddha - Is a fat man with big laughing face and big ear. Who is he in Buddhism? This isn't original Buddhism. It is more associated to the Chinese Buddhism culture. Not the original Buddhism. Why him? Again "Made in China", the image of Laughing Buddha, or many Laughing "Buddhas" is a series of men of the future. Chinese believe in luck, and wealthy. Westerners trying to stay with original Buddhism, but mistakenly for adopting Chinese culture. These a Chinese "commercially" Buddhas - The Big Belly Buddha is mostly on materials - More as "The Happy God" - The Ong Dia - In some Vietnamese regions - Also looks like the Fatty god, Ong Dia is a god of local earth. He brings you luck in business, that's why when you get to some Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants have these "respected" small statues by the door's floor. - Three other "guys" - Phuoc, Loc, Tho. Mostly associated to family, business, asian businesses. They mean Prosper, Luck, and Age. A direct influence for today's China and Vietnam corruption culture that "means good" to them. Becareful, please pay more respects.
